Things you should know

  • A deductible is a fixed amount that you must pay out of your own pocket for eligible medical expenses before your medical coverage begins to pay.

For example, if your deductible is RM500 and your hospital bill is RM2,000, you pay the first RM500 and your medical plan will cover the remaining RM1,500.

  • Co-takaful refers to the percentage of eligible medical expenses that you are responsible for paying after your deductible has been met. It means that both you and your medical plan share the cost—each paying a portion of the approved medical expenses.

For example, if your co-takaful is 20%, and your eligible hospital bill (after deductible) is RM5,000, you will pay RM1,000 (20%) and RM4,000 (80%) will be covered under your medical plan.
