General FAQ

The Great Journey is a redefined healthcare journey designed to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care through a trusted network of healthcare providers, comprising of The Great Journey Clinics and The Great Journey Hospitals. Customers will begin their care at The Great Journey Clinics and, when necessary, be seamlessly connected to The Great Journey Hospitals for further treatment. 

Customers who seek treatment within The Great Journey network may receive additional support and value-added services to enhance their experience. This reflects our continued effort to improve healthcare access and service quality for our customers.

The Great Journey Hospitals are specially selected from our existing panel that reflect a committed collaboration and alignment with our goals of quality care, affordability and enhanced customers experience.

The Great Journey Hospital are those that have committed to provide additional value and enhanced support to customers through closer collaboration with GETB under The Great Journey program. The list of The Great Journey Hospital is subject to the management’s review.

Participants admitted to The Great Journey hospitals will benefit from a range of exclusive privileges designed to enhance their overall experience, such as:

Waiver for Administrative Charges

Includes charges usually not covered by medical card such as Admission Fee, Registration Fee, Medical Record Fee, and ID Band.

Waiver for Covid-19 Screening Test

Applies to screening conducted upon or during admission. Does not apply if the test is done purely for diagnostic reasons.

Waiver for Admission Cash Deposit

Cash deposit upon admission is waived to facilitate Hassle-Free admission. However, the hospital may collect deposit in the following:

(1)   For consultation/investigation/ treatment in the Emergency department prior to decision for Inpatient admission.

(2)   Prior to initial Guarantee Letter (IGL) issuance.

(3)  Exceeded certificate limit/entitlement or amount not covered by GL such as co-takaful, deductible & expenses related to certificate exclusion.

(4)  Declined GL.

 

Priority Admission Service

Dedicated admission counter/ticketing machine/ lounge to support a smoother experience for GETB customers.

Kiddo Express Programme

A streamlined and hassle-free admission for Person Covered aged 12 and below applicable to 10 selected acute infection diagnoses, without having to wait for Guarantee Letter (GL) processing.

Discharge without Final Guarantee Letter (FGL) with minimal deposit

Hospitals will proceed with the discharge process without waiting for the FGL by collecting a small deposit (RM300-RM500) to cover estimated non-covered charges. This is in addition to any co-insurance or deductible, if applicable.  

Gesture of Care upon Admission

Exclusive items such as fruit basket, admission gift with greeting card, complimentary meal/ voucher for guardians for inpatient admissions with minimum one (1) night stay (excluding daycare & ICU admission cases). These items are provided by participating hospitals on a best-effort basis, during weekdays, are subject to availability and may change from time to time.  

The GL facility depends on the terms and conditions of the respective medical plan.

For customers of i-Medi Evolusi Rider, GL will only be issued for admission to The Great Journey Hospital with terms and conditions applies.

If GL is not issued, customers need to pay for the full bill and GETB will reimburse the eligible amount (after deduction of co-payment) upon claim.

GL facility remains available for all appointed Panel Hospitals for other medical plans. However, the value-added privileges are exclusive to hospitals under The Great Journey. 

The Great Journey Clinic are general practitioner (GP) clinics that are part of The Great Journey initiative. Together with The Great Journey Clinic, we are committed to making quality primary care more accessible and reasonable for you and your family. Our dedicated team provides trusted care close to home and ensures a seamless transition to The Great Journey Hospital for advanced treatment when necessary. We’re here for you, at every step of your healthcare journey.

The treatment pathway depends on the terms and conditions of the respective medical plans.

For medical plan which adopts The Great Journey, customers are required to begin their treatment at The Great Journey Clinic, with referral to The Great Journey Hospital when further care is necessary.

For other medical plans, starting treatment at The Great Journey Clinic may not be mandatory, but customers are still encouraged to follow The Great Journey pathway for a more coordinated care experience.

Customers are advised to refer to their certificate documents, or consult their servicing agents, or contact our Healthcare Services careline to confirm the details of their medical plan.
